Vintage Oaks 2025 Backflow Testing Group
Seeger Water is Vintage Oaks’ preferred lawn irrigation and backflow testing contractor, servicing more than 70% of all VO addresses.
Each year, Texas Water Company requires that all backflow prevention assemblies be tested and reported to Texas Water Co by a TCEQ Licensed Backflow Tester. For several years, Seeger Water has offered Vintage Oaks residents a discount in the month of March for this testing. Most homeowners pay anywhere from $85 to $150 for backflow testing, but we offer the service for only $60 in the month of March.
Signups for the group testing have begun and you can find more information and signup below. The deadline to signup is March 1, 2025.
What is Backflow Testing?
Backflow is the undesirable change of direction in a water system. Due to back-pressure (caused by pumps and gravity) and back-siphonage (caused by a sudden loss in supply-side water pressure), polluted and contaminated water from lawn sprinkler systems and swimming pools can be sucked into the public drinking water supply.
State law requires all lawn sprinkler systems and swimming pools connected to a public water system to have a backflow prevention assembly. This assembly, usually out by the water meter, acts as a one-way valve, allowing water to flow into your irrigation system or pool fill without allowing it to flow back to the public water system.
These assemblies must be tested annually by a TCEQ Licensed Backflow Tester.
What is the VO Group and Why Should I Hire Seeger Water?
Because Vintage Oaks is such a large neighborhood and nearly every home has a backflow preventer, Seeger Water worked with neighborhood leaders to organize a group discount each year. Instead of everyone individually finding and hiring a backflow tester and paying north of $100, Seeger Water offers everyone in the neighborhood a flat rate of $60 per assembly.
From January 1 to March 1, we accept signups and pre-payments online. Once we’ve received all of the signups, we publish a schedule for when we’ll test each street. Once your backflow test is completed, we will file the completed test report with Texas Water Company and email you a copy for your records.
