SAWS Watering Rules and Drought Restrictions

On June 20, 2024, the San Antonio City Council approved a slate of drought restrictions measures that will impact all SAWS customers (including residential and commercial). These changes are a part of SAWS Conservation Plan and 5-Year Drought Contingency Plan.

Seeger Water is proud to have participated in nearly every step of these changes, having SW leadership and staff attend nearly 40 stakeholder meetings, meeting with City Council members, SAWS Board of Trustees, and key industry partners and affiliates to achieve a bipartisan compromise to the original heavy-handed changes initially proposed.

While we feel that the restrictions and measures passed are a bit of an overreach and quite stiff, we are satisfied to have reached an agreement with SAWS, on behalf of our customers, to reach a compromise to drip irrigation watering frequency.
